Mohammed. Rafi’s song ‘Gulabi Aankhen’, the remix of which is sung by Vipin Aneja has become quite a rage among the audience. The remix got everyone to sit up and take notice of Vipin Aneja’s great voice.

He has sung the title track 'Saheb Bada Hatila' of the film, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’.

He says, ‘Saheb Bada Hatila track starts with the entry of the lead actor Jimmy Shergil and goes on till the end of the movie”.

Besides this film, he is singing for various new films like, ‘Ishk’, ‘Nai Subah’.

He has sung a UP folk song in the film ‘Ishk’, under the music director Ravi Pawar. It’s a fun filled, dance number. He has sung for ‘Nai Subah’ under music director Rajesh Roy who has been an assistant director to Jatin Lalit.

He has been singing in many films, and also has various albums of his released, like ‘Teri Payal’, ‘Salute to Bollywood’. Both of which were loved by the audience.

Talking about ‘Salute to Bollywood’, he said it was loved the most by the audience, and especially the song ‘yeh zameen ga rahi hai’ which got the highest number of downloads in Norway. And Gulabi Aankhen from the same album was at the top slot for a long time on the music channel, Channel V.

He has travelled nationally and internationally doing shows. He participated in “Idea Rocks India’’ which was shown on colors. The audience once again went gaga over his voice and loved his sufi songs.

Not only did he get an award from the World Pop singing competition in Kazakhistan, but also got a chance to work with A R Rahman for the concert ‘Unity of light peace.’ He has sung many jingles and was always inclined towards singing since childhood. At the young age of 10 years he won the state level singing competition in Delhi.

To pursue his singing he has completed his post graduation from New York State Academy. He has performed on stage with AR Rahman but now wants to work with him in composing music.

Though the most awaited film of this year is going to release next year, the look is out already and has created madness.

We're talking about Dharma Production's upcoming film, Agneepath. Karan Johar announced that the release date for the remake of Dharma’s cult film, Agneepath, would be a couple of days after Duggu's birthday, on 13th January 2012.

Though fans were a little disappointed with the delay in release, Karan being Karan, knew how to bring the glory back. A few minutes after tweeting the release date, Karan tweeted a link that was to reveal Hrithik's first look in Agneepath, humbly asking for a feedback on the same.

Hrithik’s look in Agneepath 2011 made jaws drop all over the world. His look inspired men and wooed women all over the world.

Hrithik had to completely change his workout routine and work extremely hard to get that shape which is now called as god made.

Aarakshan 2011 Movie Review

Aarakshan Movie Review: A lot has already been said and heard about Aarakshan, thanks to the number of controversies it had to combat to hit the screens. So, when the movie opens with Saif Ali Khan being ridiculed for hailing from a lower caste in a college interview, Prakash Jha hits the nail in its head without wasting anytime. However, as the movie proceeds, the roller coaster drama takes a preachy turn, and a few speed breakers disappoint.

Aarakshan is the story of Prabhakar Anand [Amitabh Bachchan], principle of a private college in Bhopal since past 30 years, who swears by his ethics and fights for them all through the movie. Other characters in the movie include Tanvi Azmi his doting wife, his daughter Poorbi [Deepika], who is also the love interest of his dear and obedient disciple Deepak Kumar [Saif Ali Khan] and Sushant [Prateik Babbar] Poorbi and Deepak’s friend.

Talk about characters and it won’t be exaggeration to say that Aarakshan belongs to Big B. Tanvi calls him the ‘real hero’ in the movie and so do we believe! Watch him during the resignation scene. Saif Ali Khan has done a remarkable job as a dalit – a character that is quite contrary to the suave and refined Saif in real life.

So, grab your tub of pop-corn for you’ll need energy to sit through the long movie and do an ‘Aarakshan’ for your seat for Aarakshan – there’s no harm in watching it once!

Dhobi Ghat Review Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat is the story of four Mumbai based characters who, while dealing with personal demons end up crisscrossing each other’s paths and in the process change forever. Laced with some magical moments Dhobi Ghat might stir the viewer to some extent but on the whole the film comes across as a much manufactured exercise with a slight hint of pretense.

Shai (Monica Dogra), a New York based investment banker on a sabbatical of sorts, meets a reclusive artist, Arun (Aamir Khan) and they hit off like a house on fire. Shai thinks that the chemistry is good enough to explore further but Arun’s a different man by the daylight. Shia decides to concentrate on vacation assignment of photographing people with strange vocations and befriends Munna (Prateik), a local washer man who dreams of becoming an actor. As Munna shows her the sights of the city she clicks his portfolio. They end up spending most of their time together but she can’t seem to get Arun out of her head. Arun shifts into a new house and gets lost in the life of the earlier tenant Yasmin (Kirti Malhotra) through the three video tapes he finds in the house. Shia locates Arun through Munna who happens to be the common link between the two and surreptitiously starts photographing him. While Arun gets immersed in Yasmin’s life that is going from bad to worse, Munna starts falling for Shia who still pines for Arun but will the four get what they want?

Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat walks the same path as most Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu films like Babel, 21 Grams or Amores Perroes. The whole deal of three or four characters whose lives collide and alter the course of their very existence has been done to death and Rao’s film does have a big Inarritu hangover. So much so that she even gets the Mexican auteur’s regular Argentine composer Gustavo Santaolalla to do the background score. Having said that her characters are unique, their stories interesting enough to follow but Dhobi Ghat tries to be something different from what it ends up being.

But within days of landing in India he is kidnapped by a 'recession-hit' underworld gang who think that he is still a millionaire. The story of Gulaal comes from the parched village of Talsagra in Kutch and its arch rival Rashipur. Unfazed by the protests from the people of Rashipur and leaving behind her family and friends, Gulaal sets out to help the residents of Talsagra find water. Star Plus bids farewell to its most successful telly drama - ‘Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai’

Star Plus bids a colourful farewell to one of its most successful prime time telly drama- Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai with the two hour long finale Maha-episode this Saturday, November 13th at 7 pm.

Adorning the Star Plus bouquet since Oct 2007, the show has sent the TRP charts soaring and Bidaai has remained one of the most watched Hindi shows on Indian television and continues its slot leadership in its recent week with a 4.7 TVR (TAM Ratings, Week 44 of 2010).

It was great night for debut singer Tuhin S from Kolkatta who is a stammer but with music therapy he can sing properly.His debut album Kahan Main Chala with six melodious songs was released by Prachi Desai,Alka Yagnik and Aadesh Shrivastava who is also the music director of this album.

Tuhin S told the media that he speaks with his mind and sings from his heart.Aadesh was so touched with the voice that he decided to release his album under his music label Avinisia Muzik and to give music also for the album.He also said music therapy and riyaz has helped Tuhin S a lot for singing.

Tuhin S parents were very happy with the response of media and guests.

Music Review: Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey

Perhaps even AR Rahman would find it difficult to fill A.R. Rahman’s rather big shoes so to expect Sohail Sen, Ashutosh Gowariker’s new composer to stand in for the Mozart from Madras would always be an unimaginable task. If nothing else Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (KHJJS) will surely wipe out the memories of the disastrous first outing the composer had with Gowariker in the form of Whats Your Raashi.

Based Manini Chatterjee's book, Do and Die: The Chittagong Uprising, KHJJS is the tale of Surya Sen and his comrades who dreamt of a free India and challenged the might of the British Empire in the early 1930’s. Sohail Sen’s album has six instrumental tracks in addition to an equal number of songs that manage to pack in various moods of the uprising. The son of Sameer Sen of the erstwhile composer duo Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen, most of Sohail’s arrangements for KHJJS are very Rahmanesque in execution and one can understand why. To imagine someone else conjuring up the music for a period film made by Gowariker is like expecting fish to fly but sometimes strange things do happen.

Penned by Javed Akhtar, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (KHJJS) gets right into the groove of things with 'Yeh Des Hai Mera'. Sung by Sen himself, who doesn’t do a bad job by the way, Yeh Des Hai Mera is a very well arranged track where Sen’s mellifluous voice blends in smoothly with the typical Javed Akhtar free flowing poetry conjuring up images of the dreams and the struggles of young men and women striving for freedom. Following on the heels is the archetypal Hindi film noke-jhok, chedchaad type number in the form of 'Naiyn Tere'. Sung by Pamela Jain and Ranjini Jose, the Bengali folk music inspired Naiyn Tere has a sad version as well and the minimalist arrangement lays emphasis on the local flavor. Sen and Jain’s duet 'Sapne Saloney' returns to the local Bengali flavor and a revised Sanskrit to Hindi 'Vande Mataram' marks the highpoint of patriotism of KHJJS.

KHJJS’s title track is a foot-tapping anthem like track that would surely strike a chord with the listener. With a controlled yet manic bass line, the title track’s string section along with the horns gives the number a very rousing feel. The sweet whistle motif makes it a little different from Lagan’s Chale Chalo but the ghost of the team song from Lagan looms large on KHJJS’s title track. The title track’s charming whistle motif makes reappearance in the form of The Teenager’s Whistle, one of the instrumental tracks which while being completely different does evoke memories of Ennio Morricone’s memorable A Fistful of Dollars theme. The other instrumental tracks might be more enjoyed on the screen as they are highly situational but merely listening to them doesn’t dilute the effect.

The twelve tracks do have a ‘period’ feel but they don’t seem as grand or sweeping as one would expect a period piece to sound like. Rather the mood’s almost like a bunch of school kids playing a tense hockey match. One can partially blame the infantile title for the same but you get the picture. Perhaps we have become a tad too used to a splendid and magnificent score that maybe basic simplicity doesn’t excite us initially when it comes to period pieces?

KHJJS is the kind of album that would surely grow on you. One wonders with such a strong A.R. Rahman influence on KHJJS why couldn’t Ashutosh Gowariker just reunite with the musician who gave him Lagan, Swades and Jodha-Akbar? But KHJJS isn’t about what A.R. Rahman could have done. No, KHJJS is about Soahil Sen and what he’s managed to do. Now let’s hope the Gowariker’s imagery is as good if not better than Sen’s hard work.
