Khans - Salman, Arbaaz & Sohail win in ‘best friends in sibling' poll

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan have been voted the best couple who enjoy great friendship in a poll conducted by a matrimonial site.

On the occasion of Friendship Day, which is on Aug 3, Shaadi.com conducted an online poll to find out which Bollywood relationships are also great friends and Shah Rukh-Gauri won with 45.3 percent of votes.

The couple got married in 1991 and have three children - Aryan, Suhana and AbRam Khan.

Dhak-dhak girl Madhuri Dixit and husband Sriram Nene followed Shah Rukh-Gauri on the second position with 32.3 percent votes.

The third place was taken by actor-director Farhan Akhtar and his wife Adhuna with 22.5 percent votes

"The poll showcases the value of friendship in relationships, which we strongly believe in. These are some of the most successful Bollywood relationships whose love and understanding for each other also makes them good friends," Gourav Rakshit, COO, Shaadi.com said in a statement.

"The results suggest that people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships," he added

Meanwhile, actor Ranbir Kapoor and his mother Neetu Kapoor scored highest in the category of best friends in mother-son relationship with 63.7 percent votes.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha and her actor-politican father Shatrughan Sinha won the poll in the father-daughter relationship, with 38.9 percent votes.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek got 53.8 percent votes in the best friends in father-son relationship.

The best friends in sibling category saw trio of Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan win the poll with 69.6 percent.

Followed by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor with 38.4 percent votes.

Photos of Bollywood celebrities at Madhuri Dixit's father's Prayer Meet

Madhuri Dixit's nonagenarian father, Shankar R. Dixit (91), died Friday morning i.e. (13th September 2013)  (So Madhuri Dixit had to give Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (Season 6) Finale a miss.)

"We'll miss him but we know he has lived a full life. We thank all those who have offered their condolences and prayers," Madhuri said in a statement.

The funeral was at 12.30 p.m at a crematorium in Oshiwada. "The actress' father was staying with her. He had been unwell for a while and passed away at their Juhu residence in Mumbai," Madhuri's manager told IANS.

When Mr. Shankar R. Dixit breathed his last, his whole family was by his side.

 

Subsequently a prayer meeting was held on western Mumbai suburbs at the Isckon temple in Juhu.

   
Once her arch rival now her Gulab Gang co- actor, Juhi Chawla was spotted at the meet.

Yester year actresses like Shammiji, Asha Parikh, Poonam Dhillon were too present to offer their condolences.

Rani Mukherjee was seen escorting Late Yash Chopra's wife, Pam Chopra.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan snapped coming out of the venue. 

Madhuri & Aishwarya both shared the screen space in Sanjay Leeela Bhansali's 2002 magnum Opus, Devdas.

The two gorgeous ladies, Madhuri & Aishwarya share a good equation though during Devdas shooting days there were rumors of some bitterness between the two. 

They have done different characters for which they are showered with lots of fame & fan love till date.

  Very effervescent Sonali Bendre too showed up.

Yummy Mommy Kajol made it a point to solace the bereaved Dixit-Nene family.

Madhuri's Khalnayak co-star Jackie Shroff with filmaker, Boney Kapoor. Her contemporary Sridevi could not come but she took to Twitter to offer her condolences. "Shocked to hear about your father.  My condolences to the entire family. RIP Shri Dixit," she posted.

Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor represented the Kapoor clan.

Mahesh Bhatt compares 'Jism 2' to 'Last Tango In Paris'

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has seen the final cut of "Jism 2" and feels it is on a par with Italian romance drama "Last Tango In Paris", known for explicit sexual content.

"Just showed my father the final cut of 'Jism 2'. His comment 'Jism 2' is India's answer to 'Last Tango In Paris'," tweeted "Jism 2" director Pooja Bhatt.

"Last Tango In Paris" featured Marlon Brando as a widower who develops a sexual relationship with a woman without knowing anything about her.

Though the story of "Jism 2" is diametrically different, the movie is expected to have a lot of steamy scenes featuring Sunny Leone,  Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda.

Please note Shekhar Suman wants Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone as the leading lady in his directorial venture "Heartless", which also features his son Adhyayan.

Won't accept cuts that mutilate 'Jism 2': Pooja Bhatt

Pooja Bhatt's bold project "Jism 2" is set to get a verdict from the Central Board of Film Certification Wednesday and the actress-turned-director says she won't accept any cuts that will alter her narrative.

"Verdict on 'Jism 2' Censors tomorrow (Wednesday). No way I am going to accept cuts that mutilate my film. But if the cuts work, shall be gracious," tweeted Pooja Tuesday night.

 Recalling the days when "Jism" underwent the censors' scanner, Pooja wrote: "Ten years ago when we 'censored' 'Jism', they cut out two shots that seem laughable in this day and age, but were considered provocative then.

"I accepted the two cuts on 'Jism' 10 years ago because it did not mar our narrative in the least and frankly, made our edit far more aesthetic," she added.

"Jism 2" also features Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh, and releases on 2 August 2012.




'Jism 2' for common man who understands erotica: Pooja

Filmmaker Pooja Bhatt's "Jism 2" has been passed with an A-certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). She says it is an adult film that targets mature audiences.

The 40-year-old said the film doesn't target only multiplex audiences, adding she does not make "elite films".

"I don't wish it to be an elite product. I am catering the man on the streets and women who understand 'the erotica'. It is an erotic sensual thriller...," she added.



She clarified that she never wanted children to watch it.

"We applied for an 'A' because I am very clear that I want an 'A' and not a 'U/A'. I am not making the the film for children, it's an adult film for adult sensibilities. The adult audience is a sizeable number and it is big enough for my film," Pooja told IANS.

Talking about the cuts made, she says there were few changes done.

"The censor board asked me to decrease the length of shots at four places or replace it with another one. Three out of which are in songs and one is a scene. One of them is the the song 'Yeh kasoor', which is already out on the internet," she said adding that censor board left the cuts to "director's discretion".

"I think, by saying that they are being rather mature. I made the changes and genuinely felt it made my film more erotic. Otherwise, they did not tampered with a single dialogue or a scene.

"I have not tampered with sensual content at all. I promise, apart from 'Jism' 1, 'Jism 2' will be the most sensual film of our times and I assure that I will deliver that promise," she said.

"Jism 2", releasing Aug 3, is a sequel to the 2003 film, features Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, with Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda.

A film inspired by the controversial life of the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim, would undoubtedly be incomplete without a reference to the actress Mandakini (who was allegedly involved with Dawood).

Playing a role that is inspired by the legendary actress Madhubala in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, is surely keeping Kangna Ranaut in high spirits.

I never compromise when it comes to eating but I make sure I include a lot of greens in my diet,” Priyanka had said a few years ago. Fair enough. Human metabolism may have undergone evolutionary changes in Priyanka’s case. But now the actress has to be careful.

Aamir Khan - Mera time accha chal raha hai

Though an hour late for the interview, Aamir seems optimistic about this discussion. He enters his office with a smile, apologises and makes himself comfortable on the couch for the interview.



Excerpts.

• People know you to be inapproachable, but Anusha Rizvi sent you one mail and you agreed to make a film?

(Laughs). I don’t know why people have this misconception. I was shooting for Mangal Pandey - The Rising when I got this mail. Anusha had written about a script called The Falling. At first I thought she was making fun of me because I was working on The Rising. But later, she mailed me one line that I loved. I met her when I was in Delhi shooting for Rang de Basanti. She narrated the script of Peepli Live and I loved it.

• People say that you have a winning formula for every film you touch?

Frankly, I don’t have an answer for this. Mera time accha chal raha hai isliye meri filmein chal rahi hai. I just do what I feel like doing at that point of time. I happened to read Anusha’s script and I made Peepli Live. There might be 20 other scripts lying here but I have not read them. I made these films the way I wanted to because they appeal to my sensibilities. I deal with every film differently, there might films I want to direct and not act in, ones that I want to produce. It all depends on what appeals to me.

• Apparently, you convinced Raghuveer Yadav to promote the film despite him being in the midst of a personal life crisis?

This is not true. Raghuji will be at the music release of the film. I will not comment on his personal life.

• Are there issues between Anusha Rizvi and you?

'Muthbhed' to revive Haryanavi Film Industry

The dwindling Haryanvi film industry got a new ray of hope with ‘Muthbhed-A Planned Encounter’. The film is being produced by SS Films Entertainment and Kumar Mangat of Omkara fame. ‘Muthbhed’ portrays the grim reality of the society where the youth are being misled by people in power for their political and vested interests and thereby, sending them to gallows.

The film has an impressive star cast of Mukesh Tiwari, Poonam Jhaver and Sanjay Sharma who is the villain as well as the co-producer of the film. Mukesh Tiwari got acclaim with his power-pack performances in Apaharan, Golmaal, Refugee and China Gate among a few whereas Poonam Jhaver has worked in Mohra and Aanch with Nana Patekar along with a few Marathi and South-Indian films.

The LAMHA promo trouble

The promo of the Rahul Dholakia-directed Lamha has run into trouble with the censor board. The board had initially rejected the promo outright after which the filmmakers approached the revising committee, which suggested several changes. "After a lot of discussion, better sense prevailed.

Akshay Kumar - A R Murugadoss Team up for Next Film

Ghajini director A R Murugadoss to direct his second Hindi film starring Akshay Kumar; the film will have never-seen-before action.

A R Murugadoss has taken his next script for a Hindi film to Akshay Kumar and is all set to direct his second Hindi two years after the all-time grosser Ghajini.



Akshay’s close friend and business associate Vipul Shah, who’s currently producing the Hindi version of the Telugu hit Kakha Kakha with John Abraham, will produce Murugadoss’s second Hindi film.

No stone is being left unturned to make sure the Akshay-Murugadoss team comes up with a whammy as big as Ghajini. Though tightlipped about the project, Vipul Shah is all set to spend a whopping Rs 20-25 crore on the action sequences alone.
