'Celebrities' Honouring Ceremony - Punjabiyaan Da Tashan

The Language Department of Government of Punjab, in association with International Punjabi Chamber for Service Industry (IPCSI), is organizing a 'Celebrities' Honouring Ceremony' on Sunday, the 22nd of May at Mumbai, with the aim to promote Punjabi language, culture and heritage, through the various segments of the media and entertainment industry, such as television, films, radio, print, music albums, theatre, animation and others.

S. Sewa Singh Sekhwan (Education and language Minister, Punjab) will grace the occasion. Honorable Education Minister and Dr. Roshan Sunkaria and Secretary Higher Education Government of Punjab said, "We are proud and honored to felicitate eminent Punjabis, who have dedicated their lives to the industry and have made outstanding contribution to the promotion of various aspects of Punjab's rich cultural heritage, with a Lifetime Achievement Honor. Middle aged personalities would also be honored for their meritorious contribution to sustain the state's cultural legacy. The younger generation, which has already reached the first milestone with their talent and desire to enter the media and entertainment industry, would also be encouraged to join its various sectors, which would help in creating new employment opportunities for them."

International Punjabi Chamber for Service Industry (IPCSI) represents a cross section of NRI professionals, experts, entrepreneurs, visionaries, businessmen, scholars, educationists, writers, authors, besides trade commercial, educational and cultural organizations in countries where they are settled and the domestic corporate to serve as conduit between them for promoting the Service Industry and the overall cross- cultural relations.
