Photos of Bollywood celebrities at Madhuri Dixit's father's Prayer Meet

Madhuri Dixit's nonagenarian father, Shankar R. Dixit (91), died Friday morning i.e. (13th September 2013)  (So Madhuri Dixit had to give Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (Season 6) Finale a miss.)

"We'll miss him but we know he has lived a full life. We thank all those who have offered their condolences and prayers," Madhuri said in a statement.

The funeral was at 12.30 p.m at a crematorium in Oshiwada. "The actress' father was staying with her. He had been unwell for a while and passed away at their Juhu residence in Mumbai," Madhuri's manager told IANS.

When Mr. Shankar R. Dixit breathed his last, his whole family was by his side.


Subsequently a prayer meeting was held on western Mumbai suburbs at the Isckon temple in Juhu.

Once her arch rival now her Gulab Gang co- actor, Juhi Chawla was spotted at the meet.

Yester year actresses like Shammiji, Asha Parikh, Poonam Dhillon were too present to offer their condolences.

Rani Mukherjee was seen escorting Late Yash Chopra's wife, Pam Chopra.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan snapped coming out of the venue. 

Madhuri & Aishwarya both shared the screen space in Sanjay Leeela Bhansali's 2002 magnum Opus, Devdas.

The two gorgeous ladies, Madhuri & Aishwarya share a good equation though during Devdas shooting days there were rumors of some bitterness between the two. 

They have done different characters for which they are showered with lots of fame & fan love till date.

  Very effervescent Sonali Bendre too showed up.

Yummy Mommy Kajol made it a point to solace the bereaved Dixit-Nene family.

Madhuri's Khalnayak co-star Jackie Shroff with filmaker, Boney Kapoor. Her contemporary Sridevi could not come but she took to Twitter to offer her condolences. "Shocked to hear about your father.  My condolences to the entire family. RIP Shri Dixit," she posted.

Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor represented the Kapoor clan.
